P r e s e n t a t i o n
Fortunas Favourites are a 5 piece alternative rock band from
Austria. Formed in 2003, the band quickly started touring regularly and recording
demos that attracted the attention of labels in and outside of Austria. American
and German labels featured the bands demo tracks on promo compilations and the
songs even received regular airplay. In January 2004 the band teams up with
Austrian booking agency "inkmusic" who help the band find a professional
way and first steps into the Austrian independent scene. In 2004 the band plays
a huge amount of live shows, from small clubs up to bigger festivals and the
Austrian scene gets a first impression of this new and highly motivated band.
In September 2005 the first official EP is released on inkmusic,
"born by the sun", a 5 track-CD gets regular airplay in Spain, Czech
Republic, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria on college and indie
radio stations... the band plays first shows outside of Austria, in Hungary
and Czech Republic, where there music seems to go down well with the crowd and
the public!
In regular life three boys from the band work in social services.
Stefan, the singer is a social worker who is building up a youth center in southern
lower Austria; Axel the drummer is a carer for disabled people and Armin the
bass man is a job coach for people with special needs.
In April 2006 the debut album "fingerprints" is
released in Austria on ink/edel records, and 2 overwhelming CD presentations
guide the way for the first leg of the "fingerprints tour"... Spring
2006 also sees a release of "fingerprints" on CZ label "Championship
Records" and the band even gets invited to play Czech Republic's biggest
festival "Love planet" alongside Franz Ferdinand, Him, The Rasmus
and many many more in August 2006.
In Fall the band will tour again, this time 2 more countries
will be explored: alongside Hungary, Slovenia and Czech Republic the band will
also travel to Italy and Switzerland...!

23 years old, jobcoach for people with special needs, bassman, sozialpädagoge.
Stef
24 years old, carer for young people at a youth centre, vocals & guitars,
sozialarbeiter.
Nina
24 years old, graphic designer, keyboards, creative multimediadesign (st. pölten)
Def
26 years old ,guitar salesman, guitars and guns.
Axel
27 years old, carer for people with special needs, mega-drummer, fliesenleger.
