mountain grass, parking space nearby, program on the main and
sound-system stage, various artists, performers, work shops, sport
events etc. is provided for all reggae fans. Everything is also
included in ticket price.
Samoreggaestan? Music Against the Violence Festival is also a
socially critical festival with motive Exodus. One of the strongest
theme of reggae music in a modern language represents migrations,
structural violence against foreigners, questions about integration
politics and identity. The topic question concerning European Union is
integration politics for all ethnic, cultural, linguistic and
religious minorities, above all are those originating from present
time (fugitives, economical immigrants etc.). Imperfections of
integration model lead to social, educational and other differences
among all people in EU. Intolerance between social groups is
unavoidable. A state and a society should raise questions about
managing those differences and shall enable equal possibilities and
inclusion for everyone instead of performing nationalistic politics,
forcing an assimilation and causing structural obstacles. Above all,
the differences are creative and social advantage.
These topics will be discussed in several workshops, various experts
will give lectures, there will be an exhibition, a performance by
Zlati Kastrioti theatre group, international video production
ShortCut07, we will also host Austrian drummers' project and few work
shops.
We wish to exceed last year's festival's response and prove that the
young and young by heart can contribute to a better society and a
quality of life. We can make changes and influence on the institutions
which do not recognize our equality despite our differences. The
festival area will again be proclaimed as the peace zone and in the
end young people, who are against any kind of violence as a form of
communication with differences will send a mutual message to those
institutions that avail theirselves of it.
