Stupidity (Sweden)

In late 2005, Stupidity was formed in Stockholm by previous
members from the bands Eager Beaver and Cool Jerks. They took the name "Stupidity" from
the great Solomon Burke song, a common favourite of the members. The band's
first recording was a four song demo in September 2006 and they also played
their first gig in November the same year. In February-March 2007 they started
recording new songs and doing a number of gigs in Sweden.
Stupidity do mainly their own material, but live and sometimes on record some
well selected covers will appear. The band focuses as much on live action as
on their recordings. They want to create their very sound, and not copy any
particular group. The music can be described as a garage rock with catchy songs
and a blend of soul. Lots of action, both live and on record. Influences are
clasic rock, mainly from the 50, 60 and 70's garage rock, rockabilly and soul.
All played with a punk attitude.
During the spring and summer, Stupidity has recorded and produced their debut
album "I
Need You...Like A Hole In My Head" which is released in
September 2007. Album release will be followed by tours in Scandinavia and
Europe. An American tour is also planned for 2008.
