Annette Neuffer
Biography
Annette Neuffer began to play the trumpet at the age of eighteen.
Three years later she took up her studies at the University Of Music in Graz
/ Austria. After two years she changed the university to study with Claus Stoetter
in Stuttgart. Since 1995 she is the singer of the Al Porcino Bigband.
1996 diploma in Stuttgart, followed by two more years of masterclass
studies with Claus Stötter and various teaching jobs at different schools
and jazz workshops. She worked, amongst others, with Benny Golson, Jimmy Woode,
Billy Mitchell, Horst Jankowsky, Bobby Burgess Big Band, Sunday Night Orchestra,
Mike Hennessey, Pete York, Milt Hinton, Conte Candoli, Harold Ashby, Alexanders
Swingtime Band etc...
With her own quintet she is able to both feature her abilities
as a singer and horn player, the first CD of the band "Come Dance With
Me"(yvp cd 3103) has been recorded in October 2001 with Claus Koch, ts,
Bernhard Pichl, p, Rudi Engel, b and Hendrik Smock, dr.
The second recording of the band, now with Jens Düppe
on drums, carries the title: "The Art Of Chet" - a dedication to legendary
trumpet player and singer Chet Baker. Besides a couple of tunes that are strongly
connected to Baker, the repertoire does also contain different originals and
lyrics by Annette, also new lyrics for Mulligan's original "Line For Lyons".
